  Feminism & BDSM : Oil and Water?
 
Can these two coexist together? How can feminism be expressed in the lifestyle? Does female supremacy mean the same thing as feminism? What about Goddess Worship? All these concepts will be explained and connected to our lifestyle within this discussion. I cover common misconceptions about women in BDSM, go over how being a feminist can work well on both the submissive and dominant side, and explain the abuse aspect of the lifestyle and the safety precautions the community has and is establishing. Who Am I?

 
'It seems a simple question. However, just like the movie,”Single White Female”, labels do not capture the essence of who we are inside. Beside by the time one is done relating all the labels which we use to describe ourselves, we will have aged a year. One important issue covered is the labeling of our sexuality to general society and its possible harmful effects. In this workshop I discuss how labeling of our sensualities can lead to harm and even death of a person. Is being queer and out the only way to become accepted by society or will it have the reverse effect in our current political climate How do the current political climate alter the way we express our sexuality? By pinning a label on our selves we limit others’ perceptions on who we are. Assumptions are leapt to and our relationships will be based on these labels. I promote a non label form of defining ourselves and express it within this workshop. I am Woman yes, but so much more…

 

Transgenderism In The Context of Heterosexual Males and Females

 
There has been much discussion in the media in the past few years about changing one's gender completely. However, the subsets of crossdressers drag kings and female daddies have received little coverage. Why? What identifies one from the other? Is one just a kink, not a gender identity? If a biological female identifies as male but does not chose to alter their genitalia, what does this make them in our society? How can those of us within our community who support Transgenderism assist in their acceptance within it? We will discuss popular terminology, current societal and community views on Transgenderism and the many different subsets of such.

This workshop stems from the book I am writing entitled: Women on the Edge: exploring the Myth of dominant women in America" Within this book, I will be exploring how the media has portrayed dominant, strong woman over the years. I will cover how society views them and the difficulties /stigma they had to deal with. Interviews with real dominant women and their perceptions on how they dealt with society's misconceptions of them will be shared.
